Radhika Merchant Dance Ceremony at Jio Centre

Reliance Industries Limited’s Chairman and Managing director Mukesh Ambani and his wife Neeta Ambani hosted a grand Arangetram ceremony for their daughter-in-law-to-be Radhika Merchant on Sunday, June 5.

Radhika is the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant. She got engaged to Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant Ambani in an intimate ceremony in 2019 and has been seen many times in the functions of the Ambani Family.

The lavish event hosted by Ambanis and Merchants at the ever glorious, The Grand Theater in Jio World Center, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. During her performance, Radhika Radhika followed all the traditions of Arangetram starting with the “Pushpanjali” to invoke the deities of the stage, god, guru and the audience to seek their blessings followed by Ganesh Vandana and Traditional “Alarippu” which means the prayers for the success of the performance.

What is the meaning of Arangetram?

Arangetram is a Tamil word that refers to the moment that every young classical dancer looks forward to. It’s supposed to be the first time they perform on stage and showcase their talents and years of intense training. Radhika trained in Bharatnatyam for over eight years and is the disciple of Guru Bhavana Khakar of Shree Nibha Arts.

Bollywood Celebs who attended the Arangetram Ceremony

Among the most popular names who graced Radhika’s Arangetram Ceremony were Bollywood’s superstar Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Sigh. Along with these stars, politicians including Aditya Thackray, his mother Rashmi Thackeray and brother Tejas, cricketer Zaheer Khan and his wife Sagarika Ghatge also attended the function.
