Prabhas’s next Adipurush is being called the most expensive Indian Movie to date, the makers spent Rs 300 Cr+ only on visual effects, and the budget might reach nearly Rs 700 Cr as Prabhas-Kriti promoting everywhere.
Prabhas who rose to fame across India from his Baahubali series has an exciting upcoming year. His full name is Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju, his father is a film producer named Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju.
He mostly works in Telugu cinema, his first debut movie was the romantic thriller Varsham (2004) which was a super hit. His other known movies are Chattrapati (2005), Darling (2010), Mr. Perfect (2011), and Mirchi (2013).
He gained massive popularity amongst Indian viewers with S.S. Rajamouliβs directorial Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), which won several accolades including National Film Award.
Prabhasβs Baahubali chapter 2 is the highest-grossing Indian film ever which was made with Rs 250 crores budget and grossed Rs 1810 crore worldwide at the box office. 1- Adipurush
Prabhas features in an Indian Hindu Epic drama Adipurush which is based on Valmikiβs Ramayana. The Tanhaji fame director Om Raut has directed this movie where Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan essaying the role of Ram, Sita, and Lankesh respectively, Sunny Singh as Lakshman.
It was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi and will be released in theatres along with its dubbed versions of Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil. As per the maker’s claim, Adipurush is the biggest film ever made in Indian Cinema.
The film was to release in Jan 2023 but due to the severe criticism faced by the team for visuals in the teaser, the release date of the film was postponed to a new date of 16 June 2023.
2- Salaar
The film is shot simultaneously in both languages Kannada and Telugu. It is an action-thriller, Shruti is playing the lead actress opposite Prabhas and Jagapathi Babu will play the antagonist role.
It is directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under one of the successful banners in India, Hombale Films. Releases on 28 Sep 2023.
3- Project K
Project K is a sci-fi film, it is a big-budget movie said to be made with Rs 500 crores, Prabhas will share the screen in this film along with Big B of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone for the first time.
Project K is a working title, it is yet to be titled by the makers, it will release in cinemas in two parts. As per the reports, the filming for the first part has been wrapped up, it is said to be in the post-production stage at present. While the production for the second part has already begun, the report states.
The tentative release date of the movie is April 2024, however, makers are yet to make an announcement regarding its release date.
4- Spirit
This Pan India film will be Prabhasβs 25th film, it will be directed by Kabir Singh (2019) fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Reportedly Prabhas will start shooting this film after wrapping the production of Project K.
The film will be released in eight languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Mandarin, Korean, & Japanese.
5- Maruti’s Next
Several reports suggest that Prabhas agreed to do a low-budget family drama, he will complete this in two months amid his PAN India projects shoots. Reportedly, this is a family entertainer and three popular actresses will join the Darling Prabhas, an official announcement is yet to be made.
