Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s Samrat Prithviraj failed to gather any momentum, the film had a low first week and saw a drop of 80% in its second weekend. It is Akshay’s second flop in a row after Bachchan Paandey.
It managed to earn only Rs 62.30 Cr in its 10-day theatrical run which is very low given the huge scale budget the film is made on. The trend of cancellation of morning shows continues, which started from the first Monday onwards.
Box Office Collection Day 11
As per the reports, the film saw an overall 9.45% occupancy across the morning, afternoon, evening, and night shows. Morning occupancy for the film was 6.15 %, it saw slight growth during the afternoon and evening shows with 10.15% and 11.40% occupancy respectively and witnessed a drop in night shows (10.11%).
It accumulated Rs 1.2 Cr on the second Monday (Day 11) to take the total collections to Rs 63.5 Cr.
Currently, there are Bhool Bhulaiyaa2, Major, and Vikram are performing well at the box office, while Akki’s costliest film has failed to gain any momentum. Talking about Vikram, it is a pan india film from Tamil and stands at the 2nd position in the highest-grossing Tamil film all-time list.
Box Office Collection Day 12
The downward trend will continue till upcoming Friday, it minted Rs 75 L on day 12 (Tue) to take the total collections around Rs 64.5 Cr around.
The film is now turning out to be a disappointing affair given its box office collections. Samrat Prithviraj has already been tax-free in four states, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Gujarat, but still becomes a commercial disappointment at the box office.
