The multi-starrer Tamil release Ponniyin Selvan: 1 was released on Sept 30 and still pulling the crowds to the theatres. It went past 350 crores worldwide and netted over 200 crores in the domestic market, recently.
Mani Ratnam’s film is now eying 400 crores worldwide. It revolves around the Chola empire and is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name. It boasts an ensemble star cast with Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sobhita Dhulipala.

PS1 grosses 60 Cr+ on 2nd weekend
The multi-starrer has gone past 350 crores on Sat and going by the Telugu trade reports, the flick added another over 26 crores at its cash registers making its second weekend total 64 crores+.
Now, the worldwide 9 days collections of PS1 stands in the vicinity of 388 crores. It needs only 12 crores to reach the coveted 400 crores.
As per the industry tracker and trade analyst Manobala Vijayan, it has grossed 165.87 crores in Tamil Nadu in just 10 days. As per him, it saw over 38 crores coming in on the 2nd weekend at the box office in TN.

PS1 Advance Report Day 10
PS1 again records growth in the advance sales for Sunday, the flick garnered 7.5 crores from Tamil, and The Telugu version grossed 27L. It is witnessing an upward trend in the Hindi version, it even minting more than the Telugu version now.
The Hindi version saw 48L coming in from the advance sales for day 10. PS1 managed to sell around 5L tickets worth 8.9 crores on Sunday from the advance bookings.
