Mani Ratnam’s epic period action drama “Ponniyin Selvan-1” or “PS1” was released on Sept 30th to rave reviews from the critics and the audience alike. And is doing phenomenal business at the box office that started off with a record-breaking start.
Mani Ratnam directorial boasts of an ensemble star cast Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwary Lekshmi among others. It is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name.

Box Office Collection Day 6
The film has again witnessed an increase in terms of ticket sales and occupancy on Dussehra. And has done great business on Wednesday. It sold over 5.18L tickets on Wed worth Rs 9.71 crores. As per the early trade estimation, it earns over 30 crores on Day 6 taking its worldwide collections over 300 crores gross.
Ponniyin Selvan has entered the 100 crore club in Tamilnadu, recently, as per the media reports.
Crosses the Break-Even Target
The flick has been getting rave reviews for the direction, performances, story, and faithfulness to the novel, from the critics and audience alike. If south trade circle reports are to be believed, the theatrical rights of Ponniyin Selvan were sold at Rs 130 crores and so far, it has recovered over 155 crores of distributor’s shares emerging as a hit venture at the box office.
