The latest Tamil release “Ponniyin Selvan: Part One” has set the box office on fire. It has recently gone past the 300 crores gross at the box office worldwide and is not in the mood of slowing down at the box office even after a week of its release.
It was released on 30 Sept worldwide in multiple languages and opened to rave reviews from critics. The film is performing very well in the dubbed versions along with the original version. So far, it has grossed over 15 crores in Telugu, over 10 crores** nett in Hindi, and 117 crores+ in the Tamil version.

PS1 Box Office Worldwide
Ponniyin Selvan took a huge start of over 82 crores at the box office following a good hold over the weekend, it accumulated over 212 crores in its first three days. The film witnessed excellent occupancy on the weekdays as well, on its first Monday, PS1 garnered over 25 crores gross worldwide following the growth on Tue and Wed due to Dussehra.
It clocked in Rs 29.40 crores on Tue and Rs 32.25 crores on Wed taking the total collections of Ponniyin Selvan-1 over 300 crores gross, globally in just six days. Out of which, a huge over 117 crores came in from Tamil Nadu, followed by 116 crores from overseas, 18.5crores+ from Karnataka, 17.55 crores from the rest of India, 16.8 crores from Kerala and 15.55 crores came in from the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana).

Box Office Collection Day 7
The multi-starrer shows a decent hold in terms of ticket sales on a working day (Thursday), it clocked in Rs 4.31 crores by selling over 2.32 Lakhs tickets on Day 7, as per the reports.
Now, as per the early trade estimations, PS1 sees a drop in its earnings on Thursday which is inevitable. It clocks around 15-16 crores gross on day 7 making the worldwide total over 316 crores at the box office. With this, it overtakes the lifetime collections of Vijay’s Bigil (308 crores) becoming the 3rd highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
