South India megastar Mammootty starrer Puzhu skips the theatrical release, now be ready for its direct OTT release. It is a Malayalam crime thriller movie which is going to be a good entertainer for the audience.
The big fan following of Mammootty is not just limited to Mollywood but he is one of the most loved and admirable names of the entire South Indian Film Industry.
Apart from Malayalam films, he also worked in a few Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and English films. In an outstanding career of almost fifty years, he worked in more than 400 movies of various languages including Indian and western as well.
Mammootty played the lead role in Jofin T. Chacko’s The Priest, which was released on March 11, 2021. His other movie “One”, was also released in the same month and same year, which was a political drama.
Now he is all set to come up with the Crime thriller “Puzhu” which is going to be released in the first quarter of the upcoming year.
Puzhu Release Date
Theaters are almost open with full occupancy but several much-hyped films rush to the cinema, so the Puzhu makers opt for direct OTT release and the Sony LIV to show this long-awaited film soon.
On March 8, 2021, the announcement of the film was made by its makers and they shared the poster of the film. Many dates were predicted for its release but those were just presumptions.
Some media sources were claiming that it will have a release through Disney+Hotstar, while some were predicting that it will be premiered on SonyLIV. The official announcement finally happens, the superstar Mammootty himself shared the news on social media.

The first day of the New Year 2022 was very special for the Mammootty fans, as the teaser of his upcoming crime thriller was released that day at 6 PM.
This is a much-hyped Mollywood movie because Mammootty will be seen in a character never seen before.
After watching the teaser, we can predict that in this movie, Mammootty is playing a negative role. The 40-second long trailer has filled the actor’s fans with excitement.
The megastar’s role in the movie will be memorable as it could be assumed that toxic parenting and child abuse will be the theme of the movie.
The teaser shows Mammootty talking to his son while holding both hands, and his son’s hate toward his father could be seen in the teaser.
Puzhu Star Cast & Makers
Along with Mammootty, Malayali beauty Parvathi Thiruvothu will be seen in the female lead role. The film is directed by Ratheena PT, who is making her debut as a director.
The film is jointly bankrolled by Dulquer Salman, under his own production house Wayfarer Films and S. George, under the banner of Cyn Cyl Celluloid.
The film is jointly written by Harshad, and the screenplay duo Suhas-Sharfu, while the music is composed by Jakes Bejoy.
The cinematography and editing of the film are performed by Theni Eswar and Deepu Joseph, respectively.

Apart from Puzhu, 2022 has come up with lots of promising projects for megastar Mammootty. Some of these are Bheeshma Parvam, Agent and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, etc.
