Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan was released on August 11, 2022, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and a few days ahead of National Holiday, still the film failed at Box Office but praised by family audiences.
The film is directed by Anand L. Rai, with whom Akki collaborated for a romantic drama film Atrangi Re, co-starring Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush, released in December last year, directly on Disney+Hotstar, also received love.

Produced by Zee Studios along with Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films, The film, apart from Akshay Kumar also stars Bhumi Pednekar, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb and Smrithi Srikanth in pivotal roles.

The movie is available on Zee5 from 5th Oct 2022, another festival occasion for the release. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha pair Akshay-Bhumi reunite for a family drama again, this time they are getting late to marry due to Akki has responsibilities of sister on his shoulder, another side Bhumi and his father make pressure on him to marry soon.

Box Office Clash with Laal Singh Chaddha
Akki’s Raksha Bandhan faced a direct clash with Aamir Khan’s highly anticipated Laal Singh Chaddha, unfortunately both the films collapsed at Box Office and South’s content oriented film Karthikeya 2 took advantage, impressed the Hindi audiences too.
Akki’s previous outing Samrat Prithviraj also had to face clash with megastar Kamal Hassan’s Vikram and Adivi Sesh starrer Major. The later two performed very well at BO while the Akki starrer had to face a big failure and Samrat Prithiviraj turned-out-to be a big disaster at Box Office.
