This Diwali is set to bring extra happiness for cinema-lovers as two of the biggest movies, Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn starrer Thank God, are set to be released and have a clash with each other on October 25, 2022.
The big-ticket films have been creating a lot of buzz since their announcement and are highly anticipated projects of the two superstars of Bollywood and it will be interesting to see if these films will end the drought at the box-office or if they will have to go through a similar fate to which other big-ticket movies have gone through.
About Ram Setu
Ram Setu is one of the highly-anticipated project of Khiladi Akshay Kumar has a lot of expectations with this movie and is surely waiting for a big hit, as his last two big budget films, Samrat Prithviraj and Raksha Bandhan, couldn’t make it to the hearts of audiences. However, his recently released Cuttputli, which was released directly on OTT, has given some hope to the superstar as well as his fans.
The film is an action adventure and follows Akshay’s character, Aryan Kulshreshtha, who is investigating the history and mystery behind the formation of Ram Setu, or Lord Ram’s Bridge.
It is produced by Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra under the banners of Cape of Good Film, Abundantia Entertainment, Prime Videos, and Lyca Productions. It also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Satyadev Kancharana in key roles.
The trailer of the film was launched on October 11, 2022, and has received a mixed response, with some backing its unique concepts while others condemning its average VFX.
About Thank God
Billed as a fantasy comedy, the film stars Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles, with Kiku Sarda, Seema Pahwa, and Urmlila Kothare in supporting roles. Dancer-actress Nora Fatehi will have a cameo appearance in the film.
The film, directed by Indra Kumar and produced by T-Series Films, Maruti International, Soham Rockstar and Anand Pandit Motion, is a unique slice-of-comedy film and its trailer was launched on September 9, 2022.
Ram Setu Vs. Thank God Box Office Predictions
As previously stated, the trailers for the films have already been released, and the synopsis of the films is clear in the minds of fans, who are speculating which film will win the hearts of audiences on the day of its release.
Both Akki and Ajay surely have a lot of expectations from these movies, as they have been waiting for a big hit for a long time and have been pinning hopes on their films to work better. It’s been so long since both of them haven’t delivered any films, which the fans can say are masterpieces.
Though the competition is not going to be very easy between the two films, as per early speculation, Akki’s Ram Setu can beat the Ajay Devgn starrer at BO, due to its unique concept and story, which is associated with historical Ram Setu, which had a lot of religious importance.
The Akki starrer has a more powerful subject to attract the audience. So there are high chances of Ram Setu opening to rave responses at the box-office as compared to Thank God. Well, these are just early predictions. Ultimately, the film that has a good storyline and excellent performances is going to win the battle.
