The much-awaited Telugu film “Ramarao on Duty” has finally been released in cinemas, directed and written by Sarath Mandava, it is his 2nd directorial venture and first Telugu film.
The film is not the same conventional comic movies for which Ravi Teja is known, you will see the actor in a different light in the film. He is playing an honest deputy collector’s role in the movie. It is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the banner Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas and RT Team Works.
Screen Count
Ramarao on Duty has been released in 1000+ theatres worldwide, it managed to occupy around 670 theatres in the home market (AP-TG). Nizam, Ceeded and Andhra theatre counts are 235, 120 and 315 respectively. It releases in over 250 theatres overseas.

Box Office Collection Day 1
The film got a tantamount number of theatres as compared with Thank You and The Warriorr, the latter film had performed really well on the first day with same theatres. Hence the Mass Mahraja starrer needs to go well with the masses to perform at the box office. The film had made quite a buzz ahead of its release but the negative reviews seem to play the spoilsport. As per the Telugu BO tracker, Ramarao on Duty collects Rs 5.95 Cr gross worldwide on Day 1 (Friday).
Box Office Telugu States
It collected Rs 2.82 Cr shares (Rs 4.75 Cr gross) from the home market Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It earned most shares from Nizam Rs 85 L, followed by Ceeded 52L and UA Rs 45L. It now needs to recover Rs 14.58 Cr to emerge as a hit at the box office worldwide.
The film has to gain momentum during the weekend to emerge as a successful flick, as all the recent releases failed in doing so. The Warriorr had earned well on day 1 but witnessed a big drop on the second day and couldn’t take off over the weekend.
Pre-Release Business
The pre-release business of the film is valued Rs 17.20 Cr worldwide, hence it needs to recover around Rs 18 Cr shares to emerge as a hit film. The Telugu states breakeven is Rs 16 Cr.

Reviews
The film received mixed to negative responses from the critics, they panned the narration, screenplay, and characterization, while Teja’s performance and BGM of the film received praises.
