The Telugu film industry has been struggling to see a hit film for a while, the last commercially successful film it has seen was Major which was released 8 weeks ago.
Recent release films Ante Sundariniki, Virata Parvam, The Warriorr, and Thank You failed to pull the footfalls towards the cinemas. Now the industry is waiting for a film that can make money for the producers and the distributors.
And all eyes are now on upcoming much-anticipated films, one of those is the much-hyped “Ramarao on Duty” which stars Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja in the titular role.

How’s the Hype?
The film has been making headlines since the makers dropped its teaser and recently with the unveiling of the trailer which was well received by the viewers, creating much-needed buzz around the release.
It will be a treat for the fans also as it is not a conventional Ravi Teja film, who is only known for comedy movies. The director Sarath in one of the interviews told that he has avoided the cliche’s that one would associate with Ravi’s film.

Pre-Release Business
Ramarao on Duty is all set to be released in theatres worldwide on 29 July (Friday), the pre-release business of the film is valued at Rs 17.20 Cr. That means the movie needs to recover around Rs 18 Cr shares from the theatres.
The Telugu-speaking state’s business is Rs 15 Cr with most Andhra Rs 7 Cr, followed by Nizam Rs 5 Cr and Ceeded Rs 3 Cr. It needs to churn out around Rs 16 Cr shares from AP-TG to be called itself a hit.

Box Office Collection
Ravi Teja’s actioner is expected to be released in 850-980 theatres worldwide with most in AP/TG around 450 theatres. The final screen counts report will be updated tomorrow.
Going by the trends, the film has created much buzz surrounding the film. Ramarao on Duty is expected to collect in the range of Rs 7-8 Cr gross on an opening day. All will depend on how it holds over the weekend, if it holds well, the chances of its success will be increased many folds. As a recent release film, The Warrior had seen a good opening but witnessed a major drop on day 2 and failed to sustain during the weekend.
