The month of August this year is going to be a treat for Cinephiles as there are many films that are going to grace theatres as well OTT to entertain the audience with some amazing storylines and concepts.

Whether it is a thriller, mystery, action, period drama, romance and suspense, this month will bring content for all kinds of cinema lovers. Along with big screen releases, all the OTT platforms are ready to gear up to launch some highly anticipated films.

Some of the most talked about movies are set to debut on today, August 5, 2022. Here we have come up with the list compiling the name of some much-hyped film that have finally been released today, check the list below:

1- Sita Ramam

Directed and co-written by Hanu Raghavapudi, Sita Ramam is a Telugu romantic period drama film that has been released in the theaters today. The film stars the heartthrob of Malayalam cinema, Dulquer Salman, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.

Ever since the film has graced the theater this morning, the social media has been flooding with tweets and responses with all love and praises for the performance of the star cast. Along with Telugu, it was released in Tamil and Malayalam dubbed versions.

Set against the backdrop of a war love story, the film stars DQ as army officer Lieutenant Ramam, who is posted in Kashmir valley whereas Mrunal is playing his love interest Sita Mahalakshmi. Fans are hailing the chemistry between DQ and Mrunal. Along with the performance, the film is receiving praise of beautiful cinematography, amazing direction as well as music.

2- Bimbisara

Bimbisara stars actor Nandamuri Kalyan Rama in the titular role, King Bimbisara, the King of Magadha and one of the bravest kings of Indian history, belonged to the Haryanka dynasty.

The Telugu period drama, directed and  written by Mallidi Vashist, has been released on the big screen today. The performance of the lead stars is receiving high praises and the graphics as well as editing work are at their best in the fim.

Along with N. Kalyan Rama, the film also stars Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, Warina Hussain, Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, Brahmaji, Prakash Raj, Sai Kiran and Ayyappa P. Sharma in prominent roles.

Popular South Indian movie critic BA Raju gave it 3.5/5 calling it a perfect blend of emotions.

3- Darlings

Darlings, the highly anticipated project of Gangubai Kathiawadi fame Alia Bhatt is a black comedy drama film. It is the first venture of Alia’s production house Eternal Sunshine Productions. SRK and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment has also co-produced it.

The film skipped the theater release and debuted directly on Netflix today at 12:30 pm. It is directed by Jasmeet K. Reet, who also wrote it along with Parveez Sheikh. With this film, the makers bring the serious topics like domestic violence to the fore.

The film is getting a mixed response from critics and the performance of Alia and her co-stars Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma is being praised. However, some are blaming the film for promoting domestic violence against men. Movie critic Sumit Kadel gave it 2.5/5  stars. He praises the narrative but criticizes the writing.

4- Bullet Train

Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt starrer action comedy film Bullet Train was finally released in theatres on August 5, 2022 in the United States by Sony Pictures Releasing. Before having the theater release, the film had its premiere on July 18, 2022.

Following the release of the film in theaters, the fans of the superstar are taking to twitter to share their thoughts. The film opened to highly positive reviews, and Brad Pitt has rocked his role as Ladybug. The film has some top-notch funny scenes that will make you laugh a lot. Not only that, it has brilliant writing and incredible action.

Directed by David Leitch, Bullet Train is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by Kotaro Isaka and it also stars Joey King, Aaron Taylor- Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada and many others in the prominent roles.
