National award winning actor-cum-filmmaker Rajat Kapoor’s long-awaited comedy drama film RK/RKay is all set to release this month. Kapoor himself has directed as well as written the film and apart from that he is also the lead actor in the film.
He is one of the promising actors known for his notable roles in many critical films like Monsoon Wedding, Corporate, Bheja Fry, Kapoor & Sons and many others.
His directorial films such as 2008 drama film “Mithya” was a sleeper hit and called as one of the greatest black comedies of all time by many interactional critics. Also, his 2004 directorial “Raghu Romeo” starring Vijay Raaz won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
RK/RKay Release Date
The makers of the film have finally revealed its release date. It is all set to be released theatrically on July 22, 2022. The film has already premiered in several film festivals such as Shanghai International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival and premiered in the United States of America on May 14, 2021.

Produced by Nflciks Pvt Ltd., Priyanshi Films and Mithya Talkies, the film stars Rajat Kapoor as RK/Mehboob. The film stars actress Mallika Sherawat as Gulabo/Neha and marks her return in acting after 2019 ALT Balaji web-series “Booo Sabki Phategi”. She is one of the popular actress early 2000s, known for playing bold characters in 2004 erotic romantic thriller Murder.

RK/RKay Story and Trailer
On June 30, 2022, the makers of the film released its official trailer. The trailer shows Rajat Kapoor playing as RK, a filmmaker, who is making a new picture in which he also plays the lead role as Mahboob and a high maintenance actress Neha (Mallika Sherawat) is playing his opposite as Gulabo in the film.
The film-within-a-film is a retro tribute to the cinema of the 1960s. When the shooting is finished and editing begins, RK has a strange feeling that the film will not come together, that this time he has really screwed up. His instincts turn-out-to be true as he gets a call from the editing room that something terrible has happened.
