Sony LIV’s popular biographical drama series Rocket Boys is soon to come back with its second season, after delivering the first successful season. Directed by Abhay Pannu, the series made its debut on February 4, 2022 and got thunderous reviews from people as well as critics.
Few days after the release of the Season 1, the series’ creator Nikhil Advani known for movies like Kal Ho Na Ho, Patiala House, Hero, Batla House, and many others, confirmed the second season for the series, titled Rocket Boys 2.
Rocket Boys 2 OTT Release Date
The critically acclaimed series will soon be back on Sony LIV, and like the debut season, it is likely to deliver 8 episodes. Though, the makers have just made an official announcement regarding the release date ’16 March 2023′ of the second season, first glimpse was out on 15th of Aug 2022.
It’s an anticipated releases of OTT 2023, along with other long awaited like Mirzapur 3, The Family Man 3, Made in Heaven 2 and others.
Rocket Boys 2 Star Cast
Rocket boys 2 marks the return of most of the star cast of Season 1, especially the lead actors Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh who played Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, respectively.
Besides these two actors, rest of the star cast will also reprise their respective reels including Regina Cassandra as Vikram’s wife Mrinalini Sarabhai, Saba Azad as Parvana Irani, Rajat Kapur as Jawaharlal Nehru, Dibyendu Bhattacharya as Raza Mehdi, Arjun Radhakrishnan as APJ Abdul Kalam and many others.
Rocket Boys 2 Plot
Rocket Boys follows two extraordinary scientists India ever had; Dr. Homi J. Bhabha and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. The story is set around the three crucial decades in the history of India and how the nation moves towards being a strong, brave and independent nation.
The series shows India’s scientific journey as well as some unknown expect of the life of these two geniuses who shaped India with dreams in their eyes and vision in their minds, Dr. Bhabha engineered India’s nuclear programme and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai established the Indian space programme and many other institute.

Filmmaker Nikhil Advani and his sister Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani have produced the film under their banner Emmy Entertainment in association with Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films.
While talking about the series, Nikhil Advani told the media that Rocket Boys Season 2 is in offing and that the primary goal to make the series was to tell people about the real heroes of India’s history.
Advani confirmed the renewal of the series for the second season right after the release of the first season. He said that the team shot both seasons together and after a well deserved break, they will work on the second season’s post-production work, which is currently under process.
