R. Madhavan’s ” Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” was opened with rave reviews from the critics, however, it performed below par at the box office on the first weekend. Film’s business saw excellent growth in further days due to word of mouth.
The biographical drama is based on ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, it is directed, produced and written by R. Madhavan, who is also doing the main lead role of Nambi Narayanan.
It is made under the banners Tricolour Films, Varghese Moolan Pictures and 27th Entertainment. The North India distributor of the film are UFO moviez. The film is said to be made on a budget around Rs 25 crores.
Super Hit in North India
Talking about the business of the film, recently BO tracker Sridhar Pillai informed that the film has turned out to be a super hit as the Hindi version of Maddy starrer raked in Rs 26.5 Cr in just 10 days. He gave the information via Twitter. Pillai further wrote that according to the UFO Moviez the lifetime Hindi collection of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will be in the range of Rs 35-40 Cr nett box office.

Box Office Collection Weekend 2 (Hindi)
The film had a wonderful second weekend, as per Taran Adarsh, Madhavan’s film earned over Rs 3.2 Cr on Weekend 2, with showing substantial growth on its second Sat and Sun.

Box Office Collection Day 13
Rocketry is about to complete its 2-week theatrical run still the film enjoys positive word of mouth, it has 9.3 out of 10 IMDb ratings. According to trade experts, the film showed tremendous growth in collections due to word of mouth. As per the early trade estimation, it earns Rs 0.90 Cr+ on Day 13 (Wed).
About the Film
The film is based on former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan’s autobiography “Ready to Fire: How India and I survived the ISRO spy case” and captures the scandal which changed his life forever and unravels the truth behind it. The technical crew includes Sirsha Roy as cinematographer, Bijith Bala handled the editing and Sam C.S gave the music for the film.
