After delivering the magnum opus RRR starring NTR Jr. and Ram Charan, Tollywood’s ace filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli is ready to deliver its sequel. The Pan India film became the biggest blockbuster by creating and breaking several box office records.

The RRR fever was not only witnessed in India but also overseas, with many big international actors and directors praising the film and the direction of Rajamouli.

S.S. Rajamouli Confirms RRR Sequel

S.S. Rajamouli, the man responsible for revolutionising the Tollywood film industry with his pan-India blockbusters like Baahubali 1, 2, and the recent biggest hit, RRR, has confirmed the sequel of the latter.

During a screening event in Chicago, Rajamouli announced the film is in an early stage of development. The filmmaker revealed that his father and screenwriter, Virendra Prasad, is working on the sequel’s story. However, he didn’t reveal much about the film, as the details about it are under wraps.

Produced by D.V.V. Danayya under his DVV Entertainment banner, the film stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan as two Indian revolutionaries, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju, respectively. The fictional sage explores their friendship and fight against the British Raj.

Along with the lead actors, the film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, and Ray Stevenson, among others. The film’s music is composed by MM Keeravani.

The epic action film was released theatrically on March 25, 2022, in Telugu, along with dubbed Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions. The film grossed Rs. 223 crore on its opening day, and in its opening weekend, it grossed between Rs. 450 and 485 crore worldwide.

The film, made on an estimated budget of Rs. 550 crore, crossed Rs. 1000 crore at the box office worldwide in 16 days. Only four Indian films have crossed this mark worldwide after Baahubali 2, Dangal, and RRR, with KGF 2 becoming the latest entry into the exclusive club.

After winning millions of hearts globally through special screenings and OTT releases, RRR was recently released in Japan. Recently, Rajamouli, NTR Jr., and Ram Charan visited the country to promote the most beloved Indian film globally. It was released on October 21 in Japan and has collected around Rs. 10 crore in 17 days.
