One of the most popular film directors/screenwriters and the elder brother of Kollywood superstar Dhanush, Selvaraghavan is ready to mark his acting debut with the crime thriller Saani Kaayidham.
The story of the movie is based on a real event that took place during the 1980s. After being a successful director for more than 25 years, Selvaraghavan is all set to test the waters in acting with this movie.
After Saani Kaayidham, he will play a crucial role in actor Vijay and Pooja Hegde’s starrer upcoming Tamil-language black comedy, Beast.
He is conferred with many awards including Filmfare Awards, Edison Awards, and South Indian International Movies (SIIMA) Awards in past, for his excellent directorial work.
Saani Kaayidham First Look Poster
On March 5, 2021, makers of Saani Kaayidham dropped the stunning first look poster on social media, on the occasion of the 44th birthday of Selvaraghavan.
In the poster, he was shown in an aggressive and dangerous look, smoking a cigarette with bloodied hands.
As soon as the first look was dropped, it spread like a wildfire, and social media flooded with good wishes for the brilliant star.
The filming/shooting of this most-awaited action crime thriller was wrapped up on August 19, 2021.
Saani Kaayidham OTT Release Date
As India was heading towards the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, makers of the various films skipped the theater release and chose digital premiers over hitting big screens.
Now, Saani Kaayidham has also joined the list of the films which are going to have their release through an OTT platform.
The makers of this action thriller have made the announcement regarding the release of the movie. It is decided that the film is going to be released through online streaming on one of the biggest OTT streaming platforms, Amazon Prime Video.
It is now all set to arrive on Amazon Prime on 6 May 2022. The exact date of release has not been revealed yet. We will update the page once any official announcement regarding the exact date is made by the makers.

Saani Kaayidham Star Cast & Makers
Director-turned-actor Selvaraghavan will play the male lead role opposite multiple award-winning South-Indian beauty Keethy Suresh, who was last seen in 2021 Telugu Romantic drama Rang de opposite actor Nithiin.
The film will also star Lizzie Antony in a pivotal role.
It is helmed by Arun Maheswaran, who made his directorial debut with Taramani fame Vasanth Ravi starrer 2021 Tamil action thriller “Rocky”.
If we talk about technical work, cinematography and editing are handled by Yamini Yagnamurthy and Nagooran, respectively.
Music in the film is given by popular film score and soundtrack composer Yuvan Shankar Raja.
