Salt City Story
The series follows the Bajpai family that moved to Mumbai from Lucknow long ago and have since lost touch with their roots in the big city Mumbai. As per Harish Bajpai, played by Piyush Mishra, the family patriarch, “the humid city Mumbai adds salt to everything- water, air, people and relationships”.
Harish is the character who is dismissive of his wife Triveni, played by Navni Parihar, their children Aman (Manish Anand), Nikhil (Pranay Pachauri), Saurabh (Divyenndu) and Esha (Eisha Chopra), and to their niece Ela (Monika Chaudhary).
Aman live with his wife Gunjan (Gauhar Khan) separately, Nikhil has moved out of the house to do something big in life, Saurabh is contractor and is struggling to do something good in life, Esha is married to a wealthy banker Sukesh (Jitin Gulati).
Harish is a person who always dismisses them if things don’t go the way he expected them to be. When everyone gathers for Ela’s wedding their relationships and bonds are put to the test.
Salt City Reviews
Talking about the show’’s story, it was impressive and the makers chose an effective concept to work on. The effects of generations gap, shifting perspective of family and the fact that the lack of communication affects the family is well-portrayed.
However, it is difficult to connect with these woefully one- dimensional characters. So overall, Salt City is the mediocre show, and if it gets second season, perhaps it will delve deeper into each character which is going to make it even more compelling to watch.
