Karthi starrer Sardar created good hype surrounding it through new-look posters, trailers, and marketing. The film minted decent from the advance bookings as well.
It is now out in the theatres in Tamil and Telugu. Karthi is playing a spy role in the movie, his previous flick PS-1 which is still running in the theatres interestingly the actor played a spy in that as well.

Box Office Collection Day 1
Karthi’s film had average occupancy rates till morning and noon shows, it records 18.64% and 21.18% occupancy respectively. The film picked up pace from the evening shows, the film showed 28.94% occupance rate and 41.28% during the night shows.
As per the early trade estimations, it clocked in Rs 3.5-4 Cr nett in the domestic market on Day 1. The word of mouth for the flick is decent and should show growth in earnings over the weekend.
Sardar Budget & Runtime
As per the media reports, Sardar is the actor Karthi’s biggest film–solo lead– in terms of budget. The reports state that it costs the makers 4 crores just to shoot in two places Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Sardar is recently passed with a ‘U/A’ certificate by the CBFC board, it has a runtime of 2hrs 46mins or 166mins. It is produced by S Lakshman Kumar under the banner Prince Pictures.
Sardar Advance Bookings Day 1
It touched the 1 crore from the bookings before hitting the screens though the bookings reports are not good. It managed to sell only 78000+ tickets from the advance ticket bookings for day 1.
On the other, Sivakarthikyan’s Prince did over 2fold business than Sardar in terms of ticket sales collections from the advance bookings for the opening day.

All About Sardar
Karthi is playing a dual role in the film as Chandrabose and inspector Vijay Prakash who is the son of the former. It also has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan in important roles. Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey, Murali Sharma, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu and Yugi Sethu among others.
