Nivin Pauly’s much-awaited comedy drama Saturday Night has finally hit the theatres. It is directed by Roshan Andrews and written by Naveen Bhaskar. Along with Nivin, it stars Siju Wilson, Aju Varghese and Saiju Kurup, Prathap Pothen, Shari, and Grace Antony among others.
Recent Malayalam releases Monster and Padavettu have tanked at the box office while Mammooty’s Rorschach emerged as a successful venture. Basil Joseph’s film Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya hey is also getting a lot of traction among Malayalam moviegoers, the small film is turning out to be a hit due to glowing word of mouth.

Saturday Night Budget and Screen Counts
The estimated budget for Saturday Night is 5-8 crores. The film has been released in around 205 theatres in Kerala. Lead actor Nivin Pauly also shared the Kerala theatre list on social media.
It is cleared by the censor (CBFC) board with a U certificate, it has an approved runtime of 2hr 24mins or 144minutes.

Box Office Collection Day 1
Talking about the advance bookings, the response is underwhelming from the pre-sales for the opening day. It has sold tickets worth only 20L+ for the first day which is a below-average figure for a star like Nivin Pauly.
As per the early trade estimations, Saturday Night opened with 70-75L on the first day. Further growth will only depend on positive talks among the audience. It is estimated to record a drop on Sat thus falling flat at the box office.
It looks like the fate of Nivin’s latest release will be like his last release Padavettu or Mohanlal starrer Monster. It faced a clash with Basil Jospeh starrer Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey which is doing very well and has emerged as a top choice of moviegoers in the state.
