The acclaimed Scream film franchise is set to deliver its sixth installment, titled Scream 6, soon. It is the direct sequel to the 2022 film Scream, the fifth part of the franchise.
The first film, Scream, was released in 1996 and became the highest-grossing slasher film of the year. It was followed by Scream 2 in 1997 and Scream 3 in 2000. 11 years later, the franchise was revived by the fourth instalment, Scream 4, which was released in April 2011.
After that, it again take almost 11 years for the franchise to deliver its fifth instalment Scream which was released on January 14, 2022 and turned out to be a big blockbuster grossing $140 million worldwide and now the franchise is back to continue its successful with the upcoming film Scream 6.
Scream VI Star Cast
Most of the actors from the previous movies are coming back to reprise their respective roles in the upcoming film. However, the franchise’s main actress, Neve Campbell, announced she would not be returning as her iconic character, Sidney Prescott, as she was not satisfied with the offer presented to her.
The stars who are returning to their roles are Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, and Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin.
The others being featured in the movie are Hayden Panettiere, Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Josh Sagarra, etc.
Scream VI Release Date in India
Produced by Spyglass Media Group, Project X Entertainment, and Radio Silence Productions, the film was originally set for release on March 31, 2023, but now it is confirmed to be arriving in cinemas on March 10, 2023, in the United States, India, and other parts of the world. In the US, it will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.
About the Film
The film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tayler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, with Original Franchise creator and writer Kevin Williamson back as an executive producer.
With the upcoming film, the Scream saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings: sisters Samantha and Tara, and twins Chad and Mindy Meeks, who leave Woodsboro, California, behind and start a new chapter of their lives in New York City.
