Ranbir’s Shamshera performed very poorly at the box office on its opening weekend, the biggie was expected to collect over Rs 50 Cr on its first three days, by the trade pundits. But, on the contrary, Ranbir’s comeback film started its journey with dismal opening numbers.
The period action film is said to be made on a whopping budget of Rs 150 Cr, there were high hopes that it will end the dry spell at the box office, but it turned out to be a dud, even Ranbir’s star power couldn’t save this ship from sinking.
Weekend 1 BOC lower than Prithviraj
It performed lower than Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj’s opening weekend (Rs 39.40 Cr), Shamshera accumulated only Rs 31.75 crores in its first three days. Going by this, it looks like Ranbir starrer will struggle for Rs 50 Cr mark at the box office. Many trade experts are of the view that it will wrap up under Rs 50 Cr lifetime in its theatrical run.

Box Office Collection Day 4
As per the recent reports, the film saw a major drop in occupancy on its first Monday as compared to Sunday. It saw a drastic drop in occupancy over the morning, afternoon, evening and night shows.
Shamshera saw a downward trend during the morning, afternoon, evening, and night shows, it saw 8.24% overall occupancy on Monday. As per the trade estimation, it earns Rs 3 Cr on Monday (Day 4) to take the total collections in the vicinity of Rs 34.75 crore, domestically.

Jug Jugg Jeeyo to go past Rs 85 Crs
It has been over two months since the Hindi film industry delivered a blockbuster, after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the industry is struggling to see another commercially successful film like Kartik’s flick. Meanwhile, the urban-centric film Jug Jugg Jeeyo holds well at the box office even in its 5th weekend.
Although its collections are not enough to be called a blockbuster, post-corona the average, above-average film will be considered a successful movie considering the rough patch in which the industry is going through. Jug Jugg Jeeyo is estimated to go past Rs 85 Cr mark by the 6th weekend.
