Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga is a Hindi drama thriller film that is based on a true story. The film is helmed by 5 times National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji, known for directing critically acclaimed Bengali films such as Autography (2010), Jaatishwaar (2014), Chotushkone (2015), Rajkahini (2005), and Ek Je Chhili Raja (2019).
Not only at Indian film festivals, but Srijit’s film has also traveled to prominent international shows such as the Palm Springs International Film Festivals in California, Abu Dhabi International Film Festival, MIAAC Film Festival in New York, Glasgow International Film Festival, and London Indian Film Festival among others.
The film is billed as a Dark humor lace- Satire is the second Hindi feature film of the Bengali director after the 2017 period drama Begum Jaan, starring Vidya Balan and backed by Mukesh Bhatt, Vishesh Bhatt, and Play Entertainment.
Sherdil is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Reliance Entertainment, and Match Cut Productions Private Limited while it is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T- Series Films, and Reliance Entertainment.

This drama-thriller stars Bollywood’s one of the most prominent actors Pankaj Tripathi, who previously received critical appraisal for multiple films including Fukrey, Fukrey Returns, Masaan, Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton and Stree, etc. He has also established himself in the web world with his acclaimed role in the web- series Mirzapur, where he played the iconic role of Akhandanand Tripathi a.k.a Kaleen bhaiya.
The film also stars Sayani Gupta of Jolly LLB 2, Article 15, and Four More Shot Please! fame and Neeraj Kabi who has worked in movies like Monsoon Shootout, Hichki, and Laal Kaptaan as well as super hit web series like Sacred Games and Paatal Lok.

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the makers of the movie made the announcement regarding its official release date, released theatrically on June 24, 2022 and now all set for OTT premiere on 20th of Aug only on Netflix.

About the Film
According to the film’s director Mukherji, the film’s story revolves around the conflict between man and nature and the insightful story is all about the adverse effect of urbanization, man-animal conflict, and poverty leading to a bizarre practice in a village that resides on the edge of Pilibit Tiger Reserve.
