Sidharth Malhotra is one such example of fine acting skills, clean dance moves, boy-next-door looks and soul-stirring on screen presence. He entered Bollywood with no sugar daddy and Bollywood biggie connections.
All he had was undying love for cinema and the craft of acting. Born on 16 January 1985, he started modeling professionally at the age of 18. Dissatisfied with the career, he jumped to Bollywood as Assistant Director to KJo in ‘My Name is Khan’ (2007).
We went on to become a full-time actor with his debut film, ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012. He starred opposite Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, who also marked their debuts with the film. Sidharth was Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his brilliant performance in SOTY.
So far, Sidharth has had a fairly good run at the Box-Office but best is yet to come. In simpler words, he is great but not among the bankable actors in Bollywood. Only a handful of his movies have acclaimed the ‘Blockbuster’ status out of 20 films that he has acted in.

In the 10-11 glorious years of his Bollywood career, Sidharth Malhotra has proven himself as a versatile actor who can pull up his sleeves for a performance, if he has to. From the donning the hat of a distressed, avenging lover in ‘Ek Villain’ to playing the ‘adarsh beta in ‘Kapoor & Sons’ to proudly owning the role of an ‘Indian Army Officer’ in ‘Aiyaari’ and ‘Shershaah’, you can tell that the boy leaves no stone unturned to get into the nerve of the character.
While some of his films like ‘Ittefaq’ (2017) and ‘A Gentleman’ flopped at the Bo-Office the fans continued to applaud him for his great performance. Sidharth may have found a place in Bollywood films but he is yet to unleash his true potential with films that are right up his alley. His contemporaries like Varun Dhawan (comedy), Ranveer Singh (performance-based) and Arjun Kapoor (drama) have found their genre or calling, he is yet to mark his place in a certain kind of films.
