Producer-turned-director Manish Mundra will soon come up with his debut directorial film titled Siya, which is said to be a crime thriller drama film. Mundra is known for producing critically acclaimed and path breaking movies such as Ankhon Dekhi, Massan, Kadvi Hawa and Newton.
Masaan was the winner of two Cannes Film Festival awards, Ankhon Dekhi was the opening film at the 8th Annual Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival (MISAFF) and Newton was India’s first official entry to the Oscars. With his directorial venture Siya, there are lots of expectations from fans that the film is going to be something Bollywood has been lacking since the past few years.
Siya Star Cast
Produced by Mudra’s Drishyam Films, the film features Vineet Kumar Singh, known for portraying an aspiring boxer Shravan Kumar Singh in 2018 sports drama film Mukkebaaz directed by Anurag Kashyap, in the lead role.
The talented actor has also acted in movies such has Gangs of Wasseypur film Part 1 and Part 2, Gold, Saand Ki Aankh, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl as well as in Zee5’s original web-series Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti.
Young and talented actress Pooja Pandey will play the title role in the film opposite Vineet. She is known for Chousar Zindagi (2019), Do Ghante Ki Baat (2017) and Coat (2021). Siya is the big project of the actress’ career.
Apart from the leading star cast, actor Rohit Pathak has also been roped in to play an antagonist in the film. Pathak is known for his roles in Theeran Adhigaram Ondru and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai etc.

Siya Release Date
On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, the makers of the film announced the release date of the film. It is confirmed that the film will be released worldwide on September 16, 2022. Hope it fulfills the expectations of the fans and we will get to watch a unique story.
The makers of Siya: Humein Nyay Chahiye also dropped a short video clip announcing the release date. It shows a girl running in a dark midnight, as if she is being chased by someone. We can also hear dog-barking in the video.

The plot of the film revolves around a small town girl Siya, who decides to fight for justice fighting against all odds and starts a movement against the vicious system. Talking about her role of Siya in the film, Pooja Pandey said that as a woman, this narrative to her felt like an important one and It is the story that deserves to be told.
While show’s director Mundra said that as day after day, and year after year, the cases of crime against women escalating, Siya is an attempt to depict the abject inhumanity that powerless, innocent women are subjected to in a world that treats sex as taboo and yet women as sex objects.
