All the releases this week are multilingual, but almost all the movies are performing average in the local markets. Skanda has been released in 5 languages including original Telugu and dubbed versions of Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, opening with a strong number but day 2 was average.
Ram Pothineni promoted the film, the trailer with over 70 million views created hype, and all four songs also garnered views in millions as well. Recently, in an interview, Ram mentioned that Boyapati Sreenu put in a lot of hard work to make this film an epic action entertainer. He worked hard on the action sequences and climax, and the actor talked about shooting from early morning to late night.

Skanda Box Office Collection Day 3 (Predictions)
On September 28, 2023, the film ‘Skanda’ was released, opening with a collection of 11.5 crore. The Telugu version added 11.44 crore, while the other language versions reported poor earnings. The Eid holiday provided an advantage on the release day, but the following day, the film collected 5.05 crore in India (Nett). Early estimates suggest that Skanda will collect around 6 crore on Day 3, Saturday. Though, 2 days collection is 16.49 Crore Nett, India.
If we take a glimpse at the previous releases in Telugu Cinema, ‘Bhola Shankar’ concluded with a flop verdict, while ‘Khushi’ won hearts and enjoyed a surprising super-hit run. ‘Bhola Shankar,’ released on September 10th, has already made its way to the digital world (Netflix) and is available in all five languages. ‘Kushi,’ released on September 1st, has also finished its theatrical run, set for OTT this week.
Skanda vs Other New Releases
Skanda is a solo release in the Telugu states, and the clash in other languages didn’t affect its business. Chandramukhi 2 is a major release in Tamil, and it was also released in Hindi and Telugu. ‘The Vaccine War’ and ‘Fukrey’ went head-to-head in Hindi.
Ram Pothineni is one of the most loved young actors in the Telugu Film Industry. However, his previous movie, ‘The Warrior,’ didn’t succeed despite the buzz surrounding the film. Its budget was around 70 crore, but the film failed to cross the breakeven point. So, he needs a comeback film at this time, and Skanda seems to have the potential.
