About Soorarai Pottru
Soorarai Pottru was the 2020 Tamil drama film which was partly inspired by the events from the life of Captain of the Indian Army G.R. Gopinath who founded the first Indian low-cost carrier Simplifly Deccan, formally known as Air Deccan. These life events has bave been described in his memoir Simply Fily: A Deccan Odyssey.
The film was directed by Sudha Kongara, who also conceptualized and written it the story. Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi with an additional screenplay by Aalif Surti and Ganesha and Vijay Kumar wrote the dialogues. It was produced by Suriya, who also played the lead role in the film along with Aparna Balamurali and Paresh Rawal, in association with Guneet Monga under their respective banners 2D Entertainment an Sikhya Entertainment.
The film was planned for a theater release two years ago but due to COVID-19 pandemic, it had a direct-to-digital release on Amazon Prime Video on October 3o, 2020. It received acclaim form critics as well as audience and also several accolades and awards.
About the Hindi Remake of Soorarai Pottru
Khiladi Kumar has began the shooting of his most awaited project which is the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, which was announced last year in the month of July. The Bachchan Paandey actor has collaborated with Radhika Madan for the film.

Today, on April 25, 2022, Akshay has announced that he had started the shooting of the film. He shared a video on his social media handle of the muhurat shot of the film. In the video, his co-star Radhika Madan can be seen breaking the coconut. In the caption he also asked his fans to drop suggestions for the title of the project.

Interestingly, the film is being directed by Sudha Kongara who also directed the original film and it is being produced by Suriya’s production house 2D Production along with Abundantia Entertainment and Cape Good Films on a big scale. 2D Entertainment will be making its debut in Hindi film production with this films.
Actor-producer Suriya also took to twitter and officially announced the Hindi remake. He also attended that launch ceremony which happened in Mumbai along with the cast and crew. He also shared a some pictures on social media and asked for blessings from his fans as he begins a new journey.
