Chris Hemsworth starrer, Spiderhead is an upcoming American Science fiction film which is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who has directed movies like “Tron: Legacy”, “Oblivion” and “Only the Brave”. The film is based on the dystopian short story titled Escape from Spiderhead by “Man Booker Prize” winning writer George Saunders, published in American weekly magazine The New Yorker in 2010.
The screenplay of the film is jointly written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, both of whom also bankrolled it along with lead star Chris Hemsworth, Tommy Harper, Oren Katzeff, Eric Newman, Jeremy Steckler and Geneva Wasserman.
The film holds banners of Conde Nast Entertainment, Screen Arcade and The New Yorker Studios. If we talk about technical work, Claudio Miranda and Stephen Mirrione have taken care of cinematography and editing, respectively. Joseph Trapanese has composed the music in the film.
Spiderhead OTT Release Date
Netflix on Thursday, released the official release date of the film along with some first-look images. It is now confirmed that the film will skip the theater release and instead have a direct-to-OTT release globally on 17th June, 2022 on the platform. The shooting of the film started in early November 2020 in Queensland, Australia.

Makers recently launched a new poster of the film featuring three main characters of the flick, Chris, Miles, and Jurnee, with the question top, ” How Far Would You Go To Fix Human Nature?” The sci-fi thriller arrives on June 17th, 21 days ahead of Chirs’s Thor: Love and Thunder.

Plot of the Film
The story is set in a dystopian future and includes a number of complex and intense themes including depression and suicide. It revolves around two convicts who are living in a near-future society dealing with their past and trapped in a facility that allows prisoners to reduce their sentence time by volunteering for experiments using emotion- altering drugs, which are run by a prison overseer Abnesti (Chris Hemsworth). Inmate Jeff comes to care for another prisoner, Rachel (Jurnee Haubrich), and tries to outmaneuver the experiments of the prison to save her.
