S.S. Rajamouli is one of the most successful filmmakers of Indian cinema, who has given some of the highest grossing films to Indian cinema such as Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion and 2022’s highly-anticipated film RRR starring NTR Jr and Ram Charan in the lead roles.
He is one of the few directors of Indian cinema who hasn’t given a single flop film so far. His other blockbuster films include Eega and Magadheera. Now, the filmmaker is set to come up with another film tentatively titled as SSMB 29.
SSMB29 Star Cast
Billed as an high-octane action adventure SSMB29 will star Telugu heartthrob Mahesh Babu in the lead role. It will be the first ever collaboration between the superstar and the legendary director S.S. Rajamouli.
Ever since the headlines are being made regarding this blockbuster- collaboration, fans of the actor-director duo have gotten really excited about the film. Talking about doing the first film with Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu said that it is like taking up 25 films at once. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced.
SSMB29 Will be Developed into a Franchise
As per the Telugu trade reports, Rajamouli’s father and acclaimed writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, who is also the story and scriptwriter for SSMB29, confirmed that it will be developed into a franchise with multiple parts retaining the core characters.
He is quoted as saying, ” Superstar Mahesh Babu & Rajamouli’s film is being developed as a franchise.” He further stated, “Sequels will follow. While the story in these sequels will change, the central characters will remain the same.”

About SSMB29
The S.S. Rajamouli directorial is going to be one of the big budget Indian films and it is being said that it will overpower the Rs. 350-400 crore of the filmmakers much-anticipated, blockbuster period action drama film RRR.
Recently, during a recent media interaction Rajamouli revealed that his Mahesh Babu starrer is a Globetrotting action adventure. Reportedly, he is currently working on the script of the film and will go on floor in May 2023.
Mahesh Babu’s this year’s release Telugu action drama film Sarkaru Vaari Paata became one the highest grossing Telugu films of 2022. His next on the pipeline is a film tentatively titled as SSM28, directed by Trivikram and went on floor this month with Pooja Hegde onboard to play the female lead role.
Release Date
Set in the backdrop of a dense forest, the film will be made on a large scale and will take around 2-3 years to be made. The big-budget film will be backed by producer K.L. Narayana, who has produced films like Santosham (2002), Hello Brother (1994) and Kshana Kshanam (1991).
The film will have an International release along with a wide Indian release in various Indian languages.
