Sweet Kaaram Coffee is leading OTT giant Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Tamil drama series which is a unique and interesting tale that follows three generations of women from the same family, who have begun an epic road trip.
The streamer announced the show on April 28, 2022, along with over 40 other titles in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages including original series, original shows, and co-production, etc., at its first-ever Amazon Prime Present India event in Mumbai, as part of its 2022-23 slate.
It also announced the renewal of its sleeper hit series like Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, The Famil Man, and Panchayat, etc. Along with this upcoming Series Sweet Kaaram Coffee, Prime’s fresh projects include filmmaker duo Raj & DK’s Shahid Kapoor starrer Farzi and Pankaj Tripathi starrer Gulkanda Tales. “Suzhal- The Vortex”, “The Village”, “Modern Love Chennai” and “Vadhandhi” are some other Tamil series announced by the streamer.
Sweet Kaaram Coffee Star Cast
- Multiple award-winning veteran actress Lakshmi who has worked in hundreds of movies in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi is making her OTT debut with Sweet Kaaram Coffee. The actress was last seen in the 2019 Telugu action comedy film Nani’s Gang Leader.
- Madhoo of the 1992 Tamil romantic thriller film will also be featured among the leading star cast. The series marks her second tryst with OTT after Zee5’s 2021 Hindi legal thriller drama film titled Nail Polish. Madhoo previously worked in many Hindi films like Chehraa, Mulaqaat, Udaan, Diljale, Mr. Romeo, and many more.
- Young Malayalam actress Santhy Balachandran is also part of the leading star cast of the series which marks her Tamil debut. The actress is known for working in the films like Jallikatthu and Aaha.
Sweet Kaaram Coffee Makers
Bejoy Nambiar of 2017 anthology fame, who also directed the 2016 action thriller film Wazir starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar, is helming this upcoming series along with 2020 Tamil romantic comedy film “Dharala Prabhu”- filmmaker Krishna Marimuthu and debutante Swathi Raghuraaman.
Along with directing the film Swathi also wrote the screenplay and story of the series in association with Reshma Ghatala, Vinithra Madhavan Menon, and Krishnaswamy Ramakumar. Ghatala is also donning the hat of the executive producer under the banner of Line Tooth Studios.
