For all the action-movie lovers, there is good news coming from Bollywood that a fresh action thriller is on its way to entertain you with high-octane fight sequences and a lot of drama.

We are talking about upcoming film Tehran, which is directed by and written by Ritesh Shah and Ashish Prakash Verma. The film is bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films in association with Shobhna Yadav and Sandeep Leyzell’s Bake My Cake Films.

Maddock film, in the past delivered many commercial hit films such as Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail, Badlapur, Hindi Medium, Stree, Luka Chuppi, Bala and Mimi etc.

Tehran Star Cast

This highly anticipated film will feature model- actress Manushi Chhillar opposite handsome hunk John Abraham, who need no introduction when it comes to doing action thrillers as the actor has featured in multiple films of action, thriller and crime genres such as Mumbai Saga, Madras Cafe, Shootout at Wadala, Dishoom Rocky Handsome, Balta House and many others.

Interestingly, his recently released Attack: Part 1 was also an action film, however, the film emerged as a flop, action sequences and John’s action was praised by critics. John’s another action thriller Ek Villain Returns is set to be released on July 29, 2022.

On the other hand, Tehran marks the former Miss Universe Manushi Chhillar’s second film after her debut film Samrat Prithiviraj starring Akshay Kumar in the title role. In the upcoming film, she is playing a completely different role from that of her debut film. We will witness her in full action avatar in Tehran.

About the film

Based on true events, Tehran is reportedly a geo-political thriller revolving around the Russian-Ukrainian War. In an interview, the film’s lead actor John Abraham described the film as a relevant geo-political film.

He said “if you are invested in the Russia- Ukraine crisis, wonder what China is doing, what Iran is doing, where does Palestine fit in the whole thing, Tehran is about all of this”. “It is a stunning film”, he added.
