Kangana Ranaut starring Thalivi is not showing good results as expected from the film, though the film was getting good reviews from the critics but failed to get the audience to the theatres. Because of Jayalalithaa’s charm in the south, the south audiences are coming to theatres in more numbers than the Hindi audience.
After Tanu weds Manu returns in 2015 Kangana Ranaut is trying to fetch her new blockbuster in Bollywood but it doesn’t seem to be happening. She must have had many hopes with Thalaivi but the audience is not coming in much occupancy in theatres. Her last film Panga was also a super flop, now OTT can save Thalaivi.
Thalaivi which was released on 10th Sept has done the business of a mere 6-7 Cr. Nett India in 7 days, now the 6.65 cr. for a big-budget movie like Thalaivi, is not showing hope for the future soon after COVID-19. Even her average movie Manikarnika made the business of 90 cr+.
#Thalaivii First week collection-
Tamil + Telugu – ₹ 5.40 cr nett
Hindi – ₹ 1.25 cr nett
Total – ₹ 6.65 cr nett.
Verdict – DISASTER

Though we can say that due to Corona and movie theatres which are still opening in half occupancy is halting the Business for the movie, Kangana from her last 7 movies is not getting good response from the audience, from Katti Batti to Rangoon to Panga all were flops, only 2 movies (Manikarnika and Judgemental Hai kya) of her in last 7 movies made on the average list at the box office.
We can only say that this movie is a one-time watch, the box-office collection isn’t doing justice to the film, which is based on former actor turned politician C.M Jayalalitha.
