It has been 7 weeks since the Telugu industry has seen a hit film after Major, the industry is currently struggling to deliver a money spinner at the box office. Naga Chaitanya’s recent release film “Thank You” also opens on a slow note.
Directed and screenplay written by Vikram Kumar, it stars Naga Chaitanya (Abhiram aka Abhi) and Rashi Khanna (Priya) in the main leads, it also has Malavika Nair (Paaru), Avika Gor (Chinnu), Sai Sushanth Reddy and Prakash Raj in the pivotal roles.
Box Office Collection Day 1
The film had created hype through the trailer as it looked fresh and there were positive vibes surrounding the film throughout the promotional activities. Naga is arriving on the big screens after delivering two back-to-back hits Love Story and Bangarraju. Despite all this, it failed to attract Telugu moviegoers to the cinema halls as it opened to a slow start.
As per the Tollywood BO tracker t2B Live, it performed below par on Day 1, as the film earned only Rs 3.70 Cr gross at the box worldwide on the first day. The film was expected to open with above Rs 5 Cr, but considering the day 1 performance of the film, it seems will be very difficult for Naga starrer to hold well in the future. It is said to be one of the worst openings among his recent releases.
