Nagarjuna’s latest release action thriller ” The Ghost” took an average start at the box office and fetched mixed to negative reviews from the critics. Praveen Sattaru has written and directed the movie and it is produced by Suniel Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Sharrath Marar under the banner Sri Venkateswara Cinemas and North Star Entertainment.
Nagarjuna is playing a retired Raw field operative in the movie, it also has Sonal Chauhan, Gul Panag, Anika Surendran, Manish Chaudhari and Ravi Varma among others.

The Ghost Box Office AP-TG
Earlier, it was expected that the Ghost will collect around Rs 8 crores from the two Telugu states on its first day but much to the trade experts’ surprise, the film took a very poor start at the box office.
It collected Rs 4.60 Cr gross worldwide on Day 1 with 2.45 crores shares. Out of which, 3.60 Cr gross (2 Cr shares) came in from AP-TG. The film couldn’t perform well at the box office overseas also, it raked in only 50-55lakhs from there.
Box Office Collection Day 2
Going by the trade reports, The Ghost sees a drop on day 2 due to the working day, it collects 1.75 crores gross on Thu to take its worldwide total to Rs 6.30 crores+ gross.
Talking about the box office of The Ghost, it needs a strong hold over the coming days in its extended weekend. The good thing is, it needs to recover only 18.64 crores of distributor’s shares to emerge as a hit which is possible to complete if it stays steady over the weekend following the good hold on the weekdays.

Clash with Godfather affected its BOC
The Ghost faced stiff competition with Chiranjeevi’s Godfather, which opened with double-digit figures in AP-TG. Godfather was released in 700 theatres in Telugu states whereas Nagarjuna starrer could occupy only 400 theatres. Chiranjeevi starrer became the top choice for moviegoers on the occasion of Dussehra. The business of the latter film is expected to grow on Sat and Sun.
On the other, The Ghost looks like has struggled in front of Godfather as it hasn’t managed to create the hype surrounding it like Godfather has created. The latter is riding on Positive WOM whereas Nagarjuna’s failed to do so.
