India’s leading streaming service known for delivering hit original shows such as Criminal Justice, Aarya, Special OPS, Aarya etc., has announced another Original series titled The Good Wife.
Billed as a legal and political drama series, The Good Wife is the Indian adaptation of acclaimed American drama series of the same name, which delivered its seven season (September 2009- May 2016), consisting a total of 156 episodes. It starred actress Julianna Margulies in the lead role.
It is also reported that after being confirmed for an Indian adaptation, it is making headlines for being adapted for a Chinese remake titled Rose war, starring Yuan Quan and Huang Xiaoming in the lead roles. New OTT Releases 2023 list is going very interesting with this.
The Good Wife Star Cast
The show directed by Suparn S. Varma, stars veteran actress Kajol in the lead role and she will be reprising the role of Julianna Margulies from the original series as an advocate.
It is the first show of the actress on OTT. She had previously starred in the Netflix released Tribhanga, which featured her alongside Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Parkar and was directed by Renuka Shahane.
Pakistani actor Alyy Khan plays boyfriend to Kajol in this series, recalls his kiss scene as he has crush on the Bollywood actress since 90’s.
The rest of the star cast of the show is yet to be announced. Reportedly “Sacred Games” game Kubbra Sait also has a crucial part to play in this upcoming show. Abbas Dalal, Hussain Dalal and Sidharth Kumar has penned the screenplay of the show and its shooting is under way in Mumbai.

Disney+Hotstar announced its Hotstar Special series The Good Wife via an announcement video on Thursday September 8, 2022, in which we can see Kajol confidently walking into a courtroom and asking “Shuru Karein?”. The show’s tagline reads “Pyaar. Kaanoon. Dhokha”.

The Good Wife OTT Release Date
The makers of this Hotstar Special series haven’t made any announcement regarding its release date. It is expected to be released on Disney+Hostar by the end of December 2022 or in early 2023.
