The national film awardee filmmaker is back with another soul-stirring, emotional brilliance topic with a multi-national film awardee starrer The Kashmir Files. The film deals with the plight & exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits that happened in the valley in 1990.

Ahead of the film release, the film had special screenings in the U.S, Kashmir, and Delhi from where it received an out and out positive response from the viewers including Kashmiri Pandits. It also got rave reviews from the Critics, movie critics Taran Adarsh gave the film 4.5 out of 5 stars, Rohit Jaiswal 4.5/5, and Sumit Kadel gave the film 5 out 5 stars with the latter calling, “Every Indian Must Watch This Masterpiece To Know The Truth Which Were Pushed Under The Carpet”. News website TOI and Bollywood Life gave the film 3/5 stars.
They praised the performance of the main leads, especially Anupam Kher’s act of Pushkar Nath Pandit which is being considered to be his best work to date, critics also praised the deep research done by Vivek Agnihotri.

The Kashmir Files releases on 11 March 2022 (Friday) on 630+ screens in India with around 2500 shows, TKA released in 113 screens overseas with most USA 60 screens followed by Australia, UK 18 screens.
Box Office Collection Day 1
TKA raked in Rs 3.55 crores on Day 1, and the film collected Rs 70 lakhs overseas, thereby the Day1(Friday) worldwide box office collection of the film reaches Rs 4.25 crores.
Most of the shows were houseful and it is expected that the film will show a surge in its screen counts further. Vivek’s Kashmir Files is getting a tremendous response from the viewers, thereby the film can gross around Rs 15-17 crores on the first weekend, which will be amazing for the film’s business as it is a low budget.
Vivek’s past venture The Tashkent Files which was released on just 250 screens approx and still minted 5 times its production cost and emerged as the sleeper hit at the box office. With more than double shows, TKA seems sure-shot emerges as a box office success.
