Saravanan Arul’s “The Legend” had made quite a buzz ahead of its release, the film’s trailer, which had gone viral created anticipation among the viewers. However, the audience rejected it on the first day itself at the box office.
It was opened with mostly negative reviews from the critics they bashed the performances, writing, story and narration while they praised the technical aspects of the film. The general consensus from the critics reads that it is a laughable riot but for all the wrong reasons.
It is directed by the duo J.D-Jerry and backed by Saravanan under his banner Saravanana Productions. On the technical front, R Velraj handled the cinematography, Ruben has done the editing and the film has music given by Harris Jayaraj.

Box Office Collection Day 1
It performed below par at the box office on the first day, as per Filmibeat, it earned only Rs 2 Cr in the home state (Tamil Nadu) where it has occupied around 650 theatres. It is a pan India film and was released on 2500 screens worldwide in all three languages Tamil and the dubbed versions Telugu and Hindi. The box office collections of the film from other states and overseas are minimal.
“The Legend” faced a clash with Kiccha Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona which seems caused a dent in the former’s collections. Kiccha Sudeep is a big draw down south, and as per the reports, his film performed really well on the first day including all the territories.
