The sci-fi film of the year 2021 The Matrix Resurrections after releasing in theatres now is all set to hit the digital screens.
Keanu Reeves starrer serves as a sequel to the 2003 blockbuster film The Matrix Revolutions, which was released in the year 2003 and had done the business of Rs 3242 crores approx. overall at the box office worldwide.
The Matrix Resurrection is the fourth installment in the Matrix franchise, which hit the theatres on 22 Dec 2021. It was released in India in all four languages English including its dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
It earned only Rs 4.61 Cr from India in its 4-week theatrical run, the rise of the omicron variant could be considered as one of the failures of the film and the other big reason could be Spiderman juggernaut which was running riot at the box office that time which resulted in few screens for Matrix.
The film got mixed reviews from the critics, it was praised for the performance by the main leads and the storytelling but got criticized for the repetition of casts and vfx.
Amazon Prime Release Date
However, The Matrix Resurrections is now all geared up for the digital route, Reeves starrer will start premiering on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video from 12 May 2022 in all six languages English along with the dubbed versions Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Lana Wachowski’s directorial was made with a budget of 190 million dollars (INR 1448 crores approx) and collected around 156.6 million dollars (INR 1194 crores approx)
The Matrix is the creation of the Wachowskis sisters named Lana and Lilly Wachowski. The latest flick is directed by Lana Wachowski who also co-wrote the film along with David Mitchell and Aleksander Hemon.
The Matrix Resurrections revolves around the after events of The Matrix Revolutions, it is set after 20 yrs, where Thomas Anderson aka Neo(Keanu) leaving an ordinary life owing to the blue pills which his therapist prescribes him to counter the effect of unnatural things which he glimpses time to time.
later in the film, Morpheus makes the entry and provides Neo with a new red pill after which Neo started recalling past memories. He then joins new rebels to fight new antagonists.
There are some changes in the star cast in this upcoming sequel of the Matrix, the Morpheus role which was done by Laurence Fishburne and the antagonist agent smith role which was done by Hugo weaving in the Matrix Trilogy will not appear in the new sequel, Yahya Abdul-Mateen second and Jonathan Groff will replace them respectively in the upcoming film.
As we know that the Matrix Resurrections was released on 22 Dec 2021(Wednesday) worldwide, the film was simultaneously released on the American leading digital platform HBO Max for one month period owing to the deal between HBO Max and the distributor’s Warner Bros. pictures, and as per the deal, it will be the last film of the Warner Bros Pictures on the streaming platform.
