OTT giant Netflix’s acclaimed fantasy drama series The Sandman is set to be back with its second season. The series is based on the 1989–1996 comic book of the same name, which was written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics.
Developed by Gaiman along with David S. Goyer and Allan Heinberg, the series made its debut on the platform on August 5, 2022, with an additional episode premiering on August 19.
The series gained a highly positive response from critics and the public, with praise going towards the casting, performance, direction, production design, and other aspects.
The Sandman Season 2 Announced
On Thursday, November 3, 2022, Neil Gaiman officially announced the return of Season 2 of Sandman on Netflix through a short teaser video showing Morpheus’ iconic mask emerging from a blanket of sand.
Although he neither shared the release date nor talked about how many episodes the upcoming season is going to premiere, the news of its renewal was enough to make fans go gaga. The teaser of the series features the tagline “The Dream Continues.”
