Directed by Paul Feig, The School for Good and Evil is an upcoming fantasy film which is based on 2013 International Bestselling Young Adult fantasy novel of the same name by American author-filmmaker of Indian Descent, Soman Chainani
David Magee wrote the screenplay of the film along with its director Feig, the filmmaker known for directing movies such as Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, Ghostbusters, A Simple Favor, Last Christmas and etc.
The School for Good and Evil OTT Release Date
Before Netflix took over it, popular American production and distribution company, Universal Pictures was initially set to release the film, but ultimately Netflix purchased its rights.
The production of the film began in April 2021 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and wrapped up in July. The highly-anticipated fantasy film skipped the theatre release and instead had a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix on October 21, 2022.
Netflix announced the release date along with a poster featuring the main star cast. The poster reads “There are two sides to every story”.

The School for Good and Evil Star Cast
The film has an ensemble cast of talented actors and it features Sofia Wylie and Sophia Anne Caruso in the lead roles, they are playing two best friends- Agatha and Sophie, respectively.
Also actors Charlize Theron plays the School for Evil’s Lady Lesso, similarly, Kerry Washington as Professor Clarissa Dovey, Michelle Yeoh as Professor Emma Anemone, Laurence Fishburne as the school master.
Along with these actors, the film also features Kit Young, Rachel Bloom, Peter Serafinowicz, Mark Heap, Patti LuPone, Jamie Flatters, Freya Theodora Parks, Demi Issac Oviawe, Kaitlyn Akinpelumi and Briony Scarlett.
About the Film
Produced by Feig, Laura Fischer, Jane Startz, Joe Roth and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum under the banners of Roth/Kirschenbaum Films, Jane Startz Productions and Feigco Entertainment, the film follows two best friends Sophie and Agatha who find themselves on opposing sides of an epic battle when they’re swept away into an enchanted school where young heroes and villains re trained to protect the balance of good and evil.

Netflix released an intriguing one-minute long trailer of the film on June 7, 2022. It depicts the first thrilling moment when Sophie and Agatha are transported to the school with a bewitching voiceover from Charlie Theron, who plays School of Evil Professor Lady Lesso.
