Opting a novel for a TV series rather than a film allows the story written on it to come out with greater details. As two make a film of 2-3 hours you have to cut many chunks of the story. Contrary to this, a series keeps the story to further go on and makes it more interesting and understandable for the viewers.
Many novels in the past have been opted for a web adaptation like You by Carloline Kepnes, A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket and The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian.
Now Amazon Prime Video has also announced its new young adult romantic series titled The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is based on American author Jenny Han’s best selling romantic novel trilogy of the same name.
This novel trilogy consists of 3 novels and these are The Summer I Turned Pretty (2009), It’s not Summer Without You (2010) and We’ll Always Have Summer (2011), published by Simon & Schuster.
Jenny Han is known for Young adult fiction and Children’s fiction. Her other novel “To All the Boys I Loved Before”, which was also adapted by Netflix for a film of the same name, starring Naoh Centineo and Lana Condor, became a massive hit.

Both are also donning the hats of executive producer along with Karen, Rosenfelt, Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen and Nne Ebong. The series will be bankrolled by Amazon Studio in association with wiip.

Plot of the Series
The plot of the series revolves around a love triangle between young adults Belly, Connie and Jere. It follows Isabel Conklin, a young girl who has to deal with the pains of growing up while she develops a romantic relationship with two twin brothers Conrad Fisher aka Connie and Jeremiah Fisher aka Jere.
The Summer I Turned Pretty OTT Release Date
Amazon Prime has not released the date of its upcoming drama series yet as it is currently under pre-production and is filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA. We can expect the announcement regarding its release date in the upcoming days.
