Thor day 1 box office collection in India, worldwide: The much anticipated Marvel’s latest outing Thor: Love and Thunder or Thor 4 have finally been released in cinemas across India in all six languages English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
It is the fourth outing in the Thor film series and overall 29th film in the marvel cinematic universe. Directed by Taika Waititi who also directed Thor: Ragnarok, Thor 4 is produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum under the Marvel Studios banner.
Reviews
Thor: Love and Thunder received mostly positive reviews from the critics they praised the performances of the main leads, light tone and humorous moments while the script received some criticism. It will be interesting to see how the audience responds to the film as there is a considerable buzz surrounding the film given the fan following of Marvel and Chris Hemsworth’s popularity in India.
Advance Bookings
As per several media reports, Thor 4 had collected Rs 9 Cr from advance bookings till Tue evening, the bookings were opened three weeks prior (June 17), if we compare it with Marvel’s earlier two releases, Doctor Strange 2 and Spiderman: NWH which saw the over Rs 20 Cr coming in, from advances only, hence Thor 4 advances are comparatively low.
Screen Count
As we have said in the box office prediction of Thor 4, now it is confirmed that Chris starrer will release in 2800 screens domestically, it’ll likely to increase in coming days as there is no big release till two weeks at the box office.
Thor Budget & box office collection day 1
Chris starrer is said to be made with a whopping budget of USD 185 million (INR 1462.51 crores approx), and it is projected to gross in the range of around 150 million dollars (Rs 1185 crores approx) in U.S and Canada on the first weekend.
The buzz here in India is good but given the low advances and a mid-week release created a little dent in the opening day collections. As per Bollywood Hungama, Thor 4 opening day box office collection is Rs 18.6crore in India. With this, the film became the fifth-highest opening day Hollywood grosser all-time in India.
About the Film
Thor 4 serves as a direct sequel to the 2017 film Thor: Ragnorak, it stars Chris in the titular role, Christian Bale as the antagonist Gorr the God Butcher, and Natale Portman Thor’s ex, Director Taika Waititi is playing Korg.
