Chris Hemsworth starrer “Thor: Love and Thunder” has taken a very good start at the box office and that too with a nonholiday release (Thursday). Thor 4 is directed by Taika Waititi and is a direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017).
Thor: Love and Thunder saw 40 to 45% occupancy on Day 1, and is said to be collected over Rs 18.5 Cr nett. The opening is more than two times compared to Thor: Ragnarok, which earned Rs 7.77 Cr.

Box Office Collection Day 2
Thor 4 is a mid-week release film and will see the 4-day extended opening weekend. Given the craze of Marvel films and Chris Hemsworth’s popularity in India, it was expected from Thor 4 to see an upward trend over the weekend.
But the latest reports suggest that Thor 4 saw a big drop in the collections on Day 2, the drop is almost 30% compared to the first day. Going by this Thor 4 day 2 collections will be in the range of Rs 12 to 13 Cr. The two day collections of Thor 4, now stands at over Rs 30 Cr.
Box Office Collection
Thor was released in India a day ahead, it has been released in the U.S one day later on July 8, the early projections are that Chris starrer will collect in the range of 140-167 million dollars on the opening weekend from U.S and Canada.
As per trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Thor 4 earned USD 70 Million (INR 555.32 crore approx) in the North American continent on Friday.
