The latest offering from the MCU franchise, “Thor: Love and Thunder” recently de-throned the Chinese film “The Battle at Lake Changjin 2” to become the sixth highest grosser of 2022. It is now eying to grab the rank number 5 in the list.
It was opened with mixed talks from the critics and despite the film becoming one of the second worst-rated MCU movies on the rotten tomatoes, it continues to earn well at the box office. In India, the film is eying to finish its lifetime at around Rs 105 Cr nett.
Box Office Collection Worldwide
The worldwide collection of the film now stands at USD665.48M (in Indian Rupees 5237.69 crores approx) at the box office which consists of USD303.47M (in Indian Rupees 2388.47 crores approx) domestic market (U.S and Canada) and USD362M (in Indian Rupees 2849.13 crores approx) internationally, as per box office Mojo.

With this, Chris Hemsworth-Natalie Portman starrer stands at the rank no. 6 in the list of the highest grosser films of 2022 beating the likes of Uncharted, Sonic the Hedgehog2, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, and recently The Battle at Lake Chagjin 2.
USD50M away to become the 5th highest
MCU’s 29th film is now $50M behind to cross the lifetime of Minions: The Rise of Gru which box office currently stands at USD712.12M. Thor 4 is likely to beat the latter’s lifetime by the coming weekend to become the 5th highest grosser of 2022.

MCU’s 28th outing Doctor Strange 2 is the second highest grosser film of the year 2022, its worldwide box office collection currently stands at USD954.8M (INR 7504 crores).

Thor: Love and Thunder is the 29th film in the MCU franchise and the fourth film in the Thor film series, it serves as the sequel to the 2017 film Thor: Ragnorak. It is directed by Taika Waititi and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale as the main leads.
