Directed by Ruben Fleischer, American action adventure film Uncharted is all set to make its post-theatrical OTT release soon. It is based on the video game franchise of the same name that was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The series produced by Charles Roven, Alex Gartner, Avi Arad and Ari Arad under the banner of Columbia Pictures, PlayStation Productions, Atlas Entertainment and A2 Productions, follows two characters Nathan Drake/ Nate and Victor Sullivan/Sully played by Hollywood superstar Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.
Apart from these two actors, the film also stars Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, Rudy Pankow, Manuel de Blas, Steven Waddington, Alana Boden, Pingi Moli and many others.
Uncharted OTT Release Date
Before its theatrical release, Uncharted had its world premiere in Barcelona, Spain on February 7, 2022. After being postponed multiple times due to COVID-19 pandemic, the film finally released in theatres on February 18, 2022, it was released in the USA, India and other territories IMAX, Dolby Cinema and 4DX. In India it was released in English along with dubbed Hindi, Telugu and Tamil versions.
The film received mixed to positive response from audience as well as critics with all praises for the performance of the star cast. Now, there is good news for all adventure film lovers that global OTT giant Netflix has bought the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. It will stream on July 12, 2022 on the platform. Uncharted Box-Office Collection
Despite getting a mixed response, the film turned-out-to be a big success on box-office worldwide. Despite being released along with Dog and The Cursed, the film earned around US $12 million on opening day, taking the opening weekend total to US $44 million.
Made on the budget of US $120 million, the film grossed US $401.7 million worldwide and became the eighth highest grossing film of 2022.
