Kannada superstar Dhananjaya is ready for his next film, Uttarakaanda, and it marks his second collaboration with director Rohit Padak and KRG Studios, after the 2021 comedy-drama film Ratnan Prapancha.
Touted to be an unusual mass entertainer, Uttarakaanda will go on floor in 2023, after completing the shoot of Dhananjaya’s other flick, Hoysala, which is also made under the same banner. The upcoming film is presented by Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films banner.
Uttarakaanda Star Cast
The film marks the comeback of Sandalwood queen Ramya Spandana on the silver screen after the 2016 epic fantasy film Nagarahavu, in the female lead role. The actress was recently in the news since she stepped back from making her comeback with Swami Mutthina Male Haniye, which she will still produce under her Apple Box Studios banner.
She is known for her roles in multiple acclaimed films such as Amrithadhare, Tananam Tananam, Sanju Weds Geetha, Katari Veera Surasundarangi, Nagarahavu, etc.
It is her first Kannada movie in the gangster drama genre, in which she will play a headstrong rural woman in her early 30s opposite Dhananjaya. who described his first ever collaboration with the acclaimed actress as a “dream comes true”.
Dhananjaya’s most recent release is Head Bush, in which he stars alongside Payal Rajput, which gets a mixed response from critics as well as public. Uttarakaanda was launched on November 6 through a muhurt ceremony in the presence of the entire team. Daali shared a couple of pictures of the events on his social media.

About the Film
Produced by Kathik Gowda and Yogi G. Raj, Uttarakaanda is set in North Karnataka and will explore the struggle of a common man’s eccentric mind and the theory of right and wrong. The technical crew of the film includes Arvind Kashyap as the cinematographer and Charan Raj as its music composer.
