Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai is performing very well at the box office. The adventure drama which features veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, and Danny Denzongpa was released on below 500 screens.
And now looks like Barjatiya’s tried and tested release formula has worked as it has crossed the lifetime of some of the recent mid-budget Bollywood films. Despite the low screens, the flick took a start of 1.81 crores at the box office.

Uunchai to become a hit
The word of mouth for the movie is positive that’s why despite facing a clash with Black Panther 2 and Yashoda, Uunchai is recording good occupancy rates. The performance of the Amitabh-Anupam starrer on the weekdays is very good and seems like it will show a better trend on its 2nd weekend than its first.
It will lock horns with Drishyam 2 in the upcoming Friday, however, considering its positive trend at the box office more screens will be added in its 2nd week. Bollywood is facing a dry spell as far as low-mid budget films are concerned, only The Kashmir Files could spell magic post-pandemic.
If “Uunchai” continues the momentum in the 2nd week as well, it will be considered a hit at the box office. Chup and Doctor G also performed better but failed to sustain their BO run for a long period.
