Filmmaker Mari Selvaraj is all set to turn producer with his upcoming project Vaazhai, which is a Hotstar Original film. The actor, along with his wife Divya, launched their production house, Navvi Studios.
Mari caught everyone’s attention after directing his debut directorial, Pariyerum Perumal, which was released in 2018 and received critical acclaim with praises for the direction as well as the performance.
After that, there was no looking back for the filmmaker, as his second directorial, Karnan, starring Dhanush, also turned out to be a blockbuster. He is currently directing the political thriller Maamannan, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Fahadh Faasil, and Keerthi Suresh.
Meanwhile, he announced Vaazhai, which he will direct and produce under his new banner in association with Disney Plus Hotstar.
Vaazhai First Look Out
On Monday, November 21, the makers shared the first look of the Hotstar Original film, which was launched by megastar Dhanush. He shared the poster on social media and wished the team good luck.
The poster features a bunch of young boys discussing something against a rural background consisting of beautiful mountains and a big field filled with banana trees.
Vaazhai Star Cast
The film stars actor Kalaiarasan of Madras fame in the lead role. His recent release is the Tamil action film Kalaga Thalaivan, which is currently running in theaters.
Actress Nikhila Vimal, known for her roles in critically acclaimed films like Kidaari, Aravindante Athidhikal, Njan Prakashan, Mere Naam Shaji, Madhura and Jo and Jo, etc., is playing opposite him.
The Santhosh Narayanan musical has a team of talented craftsmen, including Theni Eswar as cinematographer, Suriya Pradhaman as editor, Kumar Gangappan as art director, and Venkat Aarunmugam as executive producers.
