Vadhandhi: The Fable of Velonie is Amazon Prime’s upcoming Tamil crime thriller series which is created, written, and directed by Andrew Louis, known for his directorial work in the romantic drama film Leelai (2012) and action thriller film Kolaigaran (2019).
Popular husband and wife filmmaker duo Pushkar & Gayathri, known for directing the 2017 Tamil action thriller Vikram Vedha, are serving as the creative producers of the series under the banner of Wallwatcher Films. The duo is currently busy with the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha starring Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan.
The streamer announced the series along with its more than 40 upcoming titles that include original web series, original films, and co-production in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu at its glitzy Amazon Prime Present India event in Mumbai on April 28, 2022.
Other fresh Tamil series that were announced on the same day are Suzhal: The Vortex, The Village, Modern Love Chennai, etc., out of which Suzhal too, is created, directed and produced by Pushkar-Gayathri under Wallwatcher Films.
The event was hosted by Bollywood’s ace filmmaker Karan Johar and the streamer announced all these titles with the hashtag “#SeeWhereItTakesYou”.

Vadhandhi Star Cast
- South India actor-cum-filmmaker S. J. Suryah is playing the lead role in the series. He is known for his directorial work in movies like Vaali (1999), Kushi (2000), New (2004), Anbe Aaruyire (2005), and Isai (2015) as well as playing an antagonist in Spyder (2017), Mersel (2017) and Maandaadu (2021). Meanwhile, the actor has films like Radha Mohan’s Bommai, the Shivakarthiyan-starrer Don, and Kadamaiyai Sei in different stages of production
- Actress Laila, known for her work in Dheena, Dhill, Pithamagan, Ullam Ketkumae, and many other films has been roped into series
- Multiple award-winning Veteran actor-filmmaker M. Nasser has joined the star cast of Vadhandhi. Along with working in many South Indian languages, he also worked in Hindi movies like Chachi 420, Phir Milenge, Nishabd, Rowdy Rathore, Sala Khadoos
- Actress Sanjana and actor Vivek Prasanna have also joined the star cast of this crime thriller series

About the Series
