Silambarasan’s latest Tamil gangster musical film “Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu” or “VTK” is doing well at the box office worldwide, it opened with double-digit figures and became the actor’s top day 1 grosser.
However, it took a below-par opening in Tamil Nadu, the film was expected to rake in double-digit figures in TN alone considering the advance bookings and the buzz it has created surrounding the movie. Nonetheless, the film is witnessing an upward trend in earnings due to word of mouth.

VTK Crosses 50 crores Worldwide
As per the maker’s claim, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu has crossed the 50 crore mark in its extended four-day opening weekend. The team of VTK shared the poster of the same on social media platforms.

VTK Box Office Collection Day 4
Silambarasan’s VTK was opened with rave reviews from critics with applause for the actor’s major body transformation, performance, A.R. Rahman’s music, and the story. It takes a start of Rs 8.25 crores at the box office in Tamil Nadu on Thursday and then clocked Rs 4.50 crores on Friday. The Telugu version of the movie (The Life of Muthu) was released on Saturday.
As per trade reports, it minted Rs 6.15 and Rs 5.8 crores on Sat and Sun respectively, at the box office Tamil Nadu. Taking the total TN business in the vicinity of Rs 25 crores.

VTK Advance Bookings Reports Day 4
After a normal fall in the collections on Day 2, it again picked up pace from Saturday onwards. It had registered over 1.1L ticket sales for day 1, and saw below 1L ticket sales for day 2, which is usual for a mid-week release. The sales increased again for Day 3 as it draw in over 1.17L tickets.
Much to the trade experts’ surprise, VTK saw a tad fall in ticket sales on Sunday, however, the drop was nominal but considering it was Sunday, it should have shown growth instead of a drop. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu sold over 1.16L tickets for day 4 worth Rs 2.07 crores.
All About the Film
Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and revolves around the life of Muthuveeran and his journey from a struggling young man to becoming a dreaded gangster.
It stars Silambarasan in the role of Muthuveeran aka Muthu and Siddhi Idnani plays the main lead actress role opposite him, it also has Raadhika Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav, and Delhi Ganesh in pivotal roles.
